Dr Stephen Beecher

Stephen Beecher completed a B.Sc. in physics from Imperial College London and received an M.Sc. in Photonics and Optoelectronic Devices as a joint degree from the University of St. Andrews and Heriot-Watt University. He completed a Ph.D. in the Nonlinear Optics Group of the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Heriot-Watt University and is currently working as a research associate on the ultrafast laser inscription of devices in both undoped and transition metal doped zinc selenide in the same group. His interests include the ultrafast laser inscription of photonic devices including sensing elements, gain and nonlinear elements for lasers, optical amplifiers and nonlinear frequency conversion.
