Dr Rose Mary
Rose Mary is a Post Graduate in Photonics (Class of 2010) from the 'Centre of Excellence in Lasers and Optoelectronic Sciences' of Cochin University of Science and Technology, India. At Heriot-Watt she is pursuing her PhD in Physics, working towards the development of an ultrafast laser inscribed, compact mode-locked waveguide laser in the Nonlinear Optics Group. The research involves the fabrication and characterisation of low loss waveguides in Ytterbium doped Bismuthate Glass, and the development of an integrated cavity mode-locked laser at 1 micron. The project is in collaboration with Asahi Glass Company, Japan and the Nanomaterials and Spectroscopy Group, University of Cambridge.
